2nd annual art in the park | 2016

We are honored to announce that Art in the Park Fine Art Festival, an event of Main Street Elkader’s Cultural & Entertainment District, received the Iowa Tourism “Outstanding New Event” Award for 2016. We are so grateful and humbled by this award. We want to thank Jennifer Cowsert of the Elkader City Office for nominating us. We appreciate everyone’s support! We held another Area Youth Art Exhibit this year in our kids’ creation station! This year one of the schools that entered artwork was awarded a $100 cash prize toward their students’ art supplies.  Also for the kids, we had a professional puppet show, creation station, and storytime on both days!

Another humongous highlight was being sponsored by the Clayton County Farm Bureau and co-hosting their absolutely incredible Rural Character Scrap Art exhibit! We were amazed at the wealth of talent among our area farmers!

Of course, it goes with out saying, this kind of event would not be possible without the countless volunteer hours and support from our community, sponsors, weekend volunteers, and the Art in the Park Board.
